the routine: a morning routine we actually believe in

the routine: a morning routine we actually believe in

a morning routine we actually believe in

less optimizing. more easing into the day.

we like a morning with a little room in it.

not necessarily a five-step routine. not an ice bath at 5:15 a.m. not a perfectly color-coded calendar.

just a few things that make the transition from asleep to out in the world feel a little more intentional.

1. don't start with your phone

give yourself a minute before the notifications get a vote.

open the blinds. pour yourself a juice in a fancy cup. let the dog out. stand outside for a second. whatever makes the morning feel like yours before it belongs to everyone else.

2. move a little

this can be a workout. it can also be a walk around the block.

we love a good class, but sometimes the most useful movement is simply getting out the door.

3. make something you actually want

a cold juice in the fridge makes the morning feel a little more put together, even when it absolutely isn't.

good ingredients. something refreshing. no complicated ritual required.

4. leave room for the day to happen

the best routines aren't rigid.

some mornings are slow. some are chaotic. some involve getting everyone out the door with one shoe missing.

the point isn't perfection. it's having a few little things you can come back to.

a routine should support your life — not become another thing you have to keep up with.

so here's ours:

wake up.
open the windows.
move your body.
drink something good.
take the long way when you can.

then see what the day has in store.

see you out there.

xx, benny
